Estimating Combining Ability and Response of Tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum l.) Genotypes to Late Blight (Phytophthora Infestans) Disease

چکیده
Eight tomato varieties were selected based on all over per se performance and late blight disease reaction. Crosses made in 8×8 half-diallel mating design to produce 28 F1 single cross hybrids. The experiment was conducted greenhouse at Shambu campus research center 2020. Necessary data for recorded. In this study highly significant genotypic differences observed indicating the existence of genetic variability among crosses blight. Analysis variance combining ability indicated GCA SCA mean squares (P < 0.001) parameters. ratios GCA/SCA variances parameters less than unity implying predominance non-additive gene actions. Among parental lines, ARP d2 Metadel identified as stable sources resistant genes resistance with positive days first appearance negative severity index AUDPC values effects. From analysis epidemiological progress curves Logistic model (R2=96.5) better described Gompertz (R2=92.5) presence delays epidemics infection point a good general combiners Thus, these parents recommended be used breeding programs purpose developing conclusion study, Bishola could source potential hybrids (ARP x Metadel, Fetan tomatod2, Miya Metadel) identified. Therefore, it is that can direct production where most prevalent and/or further generating future use.

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification for detection of the tomato and potato late blight pathogen, Phytophthora infestans.
AIMS To design and validate a colorimetric loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay for rapid detection of Phytophthora infestans DNA. METHODS AND RESULTS Two sets of loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) primers were designed and evaluated for their sensitivity and specificity for P. infestans. ITSII primers targeted a portion of the internal transcribed spacer region of ribosoma...
متن کاملTuber Blight Development in Potato Cultivars in Response to Different Genotypes of Phytophthora infestans
Migrations or introduction of new genotypes of Phytophthora infestans to a specific region imposes a different perspective for potato production. During 2009–2010, a late blight epidemic affected the Northeastern United States, which quickly spread through several states. The epidemic was characterized by the appearance of a new genotype of P. infestans designated US-22, which was isolated from...
متن کاملFractionation, Stability, and Isolate-Specificity of QTL for Resistance to Phytophthora infestans in Cultivated Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
Cultivated tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is susceptible to late blight, a major disease caused by Phytophthora infestans, but quantitative resistance exists in the wild tomato species S. habrochaites. Previously, we mapped several quantitative trait loci (QTL) from S. habrochaites and then introgressed each individually into S. lycopersicum. Near-isogenic lines (NILs) were developed, each conta...
متن کاملTargeted and Untargeted Approaches Unravel Novel Candidate Genes and Diagnostic SNPs for Quantitative Resistance of the Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) to Phytophthora infestans Causing the Late Blight Disease
The oomycete Phytophthora infestans causes late blight of potato, which can completely destroy the crop. Therefore, for the past 160 years, late blight has been the most important potato disease worldwide. The identification of cultivars with high and durable field resistance to P. infestans is an objective of most potato breeding programs. This type of resistance is polygenic and therefore qua...
متن کاملAssessment of genetic variation in Bulgarian tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) genotypes, using fluorescent SSR genotyping platform
Genetic variability in modern crops is limited due to domestication and selection processes. Genetic variation in eight Bulgarian tomato varieties and breeding lines (variety Plovdivska karotina, variety IZK Alya, L21β, L53β, L1140, L1116, L975, L984) differing in their morphological and biochemical composition was assessed using a highly efficient and low-cost fluorescent simple sequence repea...
